Orders shipped outside the state of Vermont are not charged sales tax.
If your order is being shipped to Vermont
Safer Society Press is required to charge a 6% sales tax on the total order, including shipping and handling. We also are required to charge a 1% additional local option sales tax for deliveries to the following Vermont cities and towns:
- Williston
- Manchester
- Stratton
- Burlington
- Dover
- South Burlington
- Killington
- Middlebury
- Rutland Town
- Winhall
- Wilmington
- St. Albans Town
- Colchester
- Brandon
Our online store does not give us the flexibility to discriminate between these towns and others in Vermont without the local tax. As most of our sales in Vermont come from these most populous Vermont communities, we’ve set the tax rate to 7% for Vermont as a whole. If you order from another town in Vermont, we will process a refund for the difference, but we would prefer if you call us to place your order. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

Shipping
Shipping to multiple locations. If you want to ship a single order with a bulk discount applied to multiple locations, please contact us. We can do this, but we need to charge a handling fee of $10 per shipment.
Shipping to Alaska or Hawaii. Orders shipping to Alaska or Hawaii will be processed via Media Mail.
