Overview

Based on a book written voluntarily by a group of 10-13 year old boys in a residential treatment program for young sex offenders, Stop Just for Kids was conceived by them as an offering of restitution to their communities. It documents their growth in understanding that led to profound and lasting behavioral change.

Cast in kindness and full of expectancy, Stop! faces the hard issues of youthful sexual offending with stunning candor. The topics of the illegality of sexual abuse, consequences, personal responsibility, empathy, denial, normal sexuality and many more essential points are carefully considered.

With only a few thoughts on each page, the book’s messages are meant to be pondered deliberately, reasoned through one by one, talked out with a therapist or in groups, and deeply felt, in the hope that the ideas they express will enlighten and transform sexually troubled boys or girls.

Stop Just for Kids is a unique teaching tool for therapists treating preadolescents with serious sexual behavior problems.
