Online training in sex offender management for people new to the field

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) California Chapter is excited to announce a new two-part training series addressing treatment and management of sexual offenders.

Target Audience:  These courses will be of interest to those who recently entered the field or those who need to acquire a few more continuing education hours for CASOMB certifications.

Content:  The two-part series explores several clinical aspects of evidence-based “best practices” for sex offender treatment and management including, but not limited to paraphilic disorders; the common characteristics, etiology, and typologies of adult and juvenile sex offenders; female sex offender statistics and typologies; sex offender recidivism; sex offender laws; treatment of violent sexual predators; and critical policy considerations.  The instructors for the courses are Niki Delson, LCSW, Dr. Gerry Blasingame, PsyD and Dr. Stan Taubman, PhD.
