Hurricane Irene roared into Vermont on Sunday with torrential rains, and when she left, the Safer Society office building was severely damaged by flood waters and unaccessible. We are very grateful that none of our staff were injured or killed. We are working to return our operations to normal as soon as possible, but for the moment, we are only able to provide a few services from remote locations while we deal with other disaster recovery tasks. If you have recently placed an order, we will be contacting you to let you know its status. We are unable to offer referrals for a few days, but hope to begin offering them again sometime during the week of September 5th. We have set up a page which we will update with our recovery information and status as we learn more and can share with you. You can reach that page by clicking Irene Recovery Information.
We apologize for any inconvenience to those using our services. We will work as quickly as possible to restore normal operations. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

I was so sorry to hear about the storm damage. I know that Joan Tabachnick has communicated our sentiments and desire to help if we can, but I wanted to write as well. If there is any way that NEARI Press can help you get back up and running, please let us do so. We may be competitors, but we are also part of a very small family with roots dug deep inside Fay. I send you blessings and all my best as you dig out from this horrific event.
Best,
SB
