Is there any prior knowledge expected of people attending the course?
No prior knowledge is required, though experience with early development may be helpful.

Registration fees are non-refundable.

How and Where?
This course is offered online through our website and can be completed at your own pace; however, access expires one year from the purchase of the registration. You can pause and resume whenever you like, within the one year window. This course requires watching pre-recorded videos.

Will this train me to code the SSP?
This course will allow people to properly conduct the Ainsworth procedure and is designed to train people to score the three basic Ainsworth categories: A, B, and C.

There is separate training for scoring the newer disorganized category. You may contact Elizabeth Carlson (carls032@umn.edu) with regard to that training.

How do I complete it?
At the end of the course, there is a 50-question quiz that can be completed at your own pace. You need to score 80% or higher on the quiz to pass. You will also be required to submit five short homework assignments and an online evaluation. The homework assignment, quiz, and evaluation will be accessed online through the course website.

When I’m done, how do I get my credit?
Once we’ve verified you’ve passed, we’ll send you a certificate of completion by email. This process usually takes 12-14 days.

What kind of computer do I need?
While we recommend using either a desktop or a laptop (Windows/Mac) for the best experience, any device with a web browser and access to the internet should work.

What do I get for completing the course?
This course offers a Certificate of Completion, but is not eligible for Continuing Education credits.
