Building Hope and Motivation with Suicidal Clients in Criminal Justice

“About two in five people who are incarcerated have a history of mental illness (37% in state and federal prisons and 44% held in local jails).” – NAMI

September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. The number of incarcerated people with mental illness is twice the rate of the overall adult population (NAMI).
